01-28-2015 Dreams of Finance Advice and Labor Shortages. Also Significance of the number Thirteen.

I had two memorable dreams in the early morning of 1/27 and 1/28/2015.

What is interesting is they seemed to be dreams within the same community of people...like a retirement community.

The dream on 1/27/2015 was fairly straight forward.

I was talking to a lady, probably in her early fifties with shoulder length, wavy, brunette hair about my finances. She had a larger, maybe Roman, nose. She was friendly but kept steering the conversation to how she wished she could find a man to live her life out with.

Not too exciting of a dream but memorable.

Early this morning, on 1/28/2015, I had a dream in the same community of retired folks.

This time I was talking to a frustrated surgeon who was anxious to get started on a surgery but could not find anyone to hand him surgical tools when needed. I volunteered because I have a degree in Fisheries Biology so I have some experience doing surgical procedures on animals.

My volunteering shocked the doctor but he went with it because the surgery needed to be done quickly.

Conclusion

I think these two dreams are reflecting what will happen in the near future (next two years or so).

Based on these two dreams, I expect within the next two years to talk with some lady about finances who really is looking for the love of her life.

I also expect to see a severe shortage in surgical nurses to the point a lot of surgeons will feel great frustration!

Example of a Real Life Experience Matching a Previous Dream I Had Over Two Years Earlier

I recently watched a random episode of the TV show "America Unearthed".

It was all about the host of the show believing Mary and Jesus were real people and they had a kid together.

That isn't what I got emotionally charged about. I got emotionally charged when he started rattling off facts around the number 13 and how significant this number is in regards to Mary and Jesus...

Apparently there were 13 people sitting at the "Last Supper", as reported in the bible. There are several pictures of Jesus and Mary with their third and forth finger on each hand close together with the other two fingers on either side spread apart representing what the host said was the letter "M". He then pointed out the letter "M" is the 13th letter in the alphabet. This hand gesture is proposed to be a secret way of passing on the fact the TV host believes the "Holy Grail" may really be the secret fact Mary and Jesus had a kid and the lineage of their offspring continues today!

Frankly too heavy into the history of religion for me to follow but apparently parallels the "DaVinci Code" book.

The reason I got emotionally charged was I had a dream a long while back simply stating the number 13 is significant.

With the 12/24/2014 dream I had reporting my great uneasiness coming into the start of 2015 we may need to be more aware of possible life changing events that will happen this year.

With my uneasiness and review of the "number 13" dream from a couple of years ago I am starting to wonder what will happen around May 13th, 2015.

According to one of the Mayans beliefs below, the date May 13th of a new Mayan 3000 year period also is the time when unique alignments of constellations occur. Since this alignment has not been reported in modern times who knows what havoc that might cause!

"Before I went to Mexico I had a dream that indicated the number 13 was important. Come to learn, after visiting the Mayan ruins, May 13th is an important day in the seasonal calendar...summer solstice?? Anyway the Mayan tour guide we went to Chichen Itsa with, also mentioned the fact that 12/23/2012 is just the start of a new Mayan period. No particular reason to think it will be the end of the world. The Mayan's tracked periods, one of which was around 3000 years long. 12/23/2012 will be the start of a new Mayan 3000 year period. He also indicated there was a unique alignment of the planets or some other constellation alignment at the start of the previous 3000 year period. The effect of this unique alignment in the constellation is yet to be recorded in modern times. We will have to wait and see what this alignment does to our solar system. My dream from two years ago before I visited the Mayan ruins revealed the number 13 has great significance. Since I didn't have any idea of the historical context of my dream I had to wait until real life events I experienced after the dream gave me the facts supporting my two year old dream's bold statement bold statement about the number thirteen.

I now know the number 13 has great historical significance in Mayans history and in the history of  Christianity!

Update 02/14/2015: I just noticed if you add the individual numbers of the 12/23/2012 date together the total is 13 (1+2+2+3+2+0+1+2 = 13)! The Mayans were very good with math. Maybe that is why.

 

01/26/2015 Man from Mars Picture...

Ok. I know the mind is geared towards facial recognition. I also know the mind can form faces from pictures of rocks on Mars but maybe this is a good reminder to expect the unexpected as we venture out into the wild universe!

12-28-2014 Dream of a Cruise Ship Disaster on a River

I had a dream on 12-28-2014. A cruise ship appeared to have run aground or was failing in some way on a river. I was one of the passengers and tried to take a leadership role by telling passengers how to maneuver to safety on the ship's deck.

The problem is I kept messing up the directions I would tell the passengers as they ran in panic to life boats to get off the ship.

I would say "Turn right!" and then have to correct myself by saying "I mean turn left not turn right!"

It was as if my subconscious was trying to tell me I would make a terrible leader because I can't get the details right when they are most important to get right!

The subconscious is a brutal communicator. It has no rules and no problem being blunt and almost rude when it communicates messages to me in dreams.

I woke up feeling vulnerable and unsure of my  to communicate effectively.

I am entering 2015 feeling vulnerable and unsure of myself, the way I communicate to others and unsure about the world around me.

Is this uncertainty an omen of future 2015 events in my life?

It was a rather strong statement for my subconscious to make and I am not sure how to interpret it at this point.

We'll have to wait and see how these feelings relate to events I experience in 2015.

I find this dream unsettling.

Update 3/23/2015: I realize now I was wrong to be uncertain of my communication skills, at least, pertaining to my "Birthday Phenomena" dreams. What changed my mind was a bit of news on how Biogen successfully slowed Alzeimers by attacking the protein  buildup in the brain known to cause alzeimer symptoms. The researcher from  Biogen said they followed the trail  blazed  by other  companies who failed in their attempts.

The news reporter asked the Biogen researcher why their attempts succeeded where others failed. He said "I don't know. Ours works theirs didn't. Maybe we have a more  controlled environment to  create the drugs or maybe our drugs chemical bond structure is stronger  than previous attempts to make the drug." 

It is OK to "not know" how something works but still try to get it right a second time, report the sources and outcome of trailblazing attempts to understand the universe we live in.

It is ok to be wrong the first time. The fact that I simply document my "Birthday Phenomena" dreams and attempt to interpret what they mean allows others a  baseline  of knowledge to reinterpret and provide an even better interpretation of the monthly predictive dreams they are having.

12-13-2014 More Evidence of a Super Human Race?

I woke up at 3:00 AM on 12-13-2014. The dream I was having right before I woke up was fresh in my mind.

My logical mind started working on the puzzling, symbolic set of images and phrases from the dream as it always does. My logical mind tries to make sense of the puzzling, cryptic array of subconscious images and phrases I remember from my dreams.

The dream involved another famous Microsoft President, Steve Ballmer. In my dream, Steve was under investigation for his wacko behavior lately..,.in my dream. The court "authorities" finally dragged the truth out of Steve and found out he had secretly been worshiping and laying out gifts to a super, god-like race of darker skinned people in a secret chamber dugout deep in the earth. The phrase my subconscious used to describe the super, god-like race of darker skinned people was "Panacea".

Remember, this is my dream and some of the images and phrases are very odd. For instance, the "dugout" chamber was near one of Steve Ballmer's baseball team's "dugouts" in a baseball stadium!

The word "Panacea" must be familiar to me from a previous real life experience but I don't remember what it means right now. That isn't the way to interpret subconscious phrases though. You have to phonetically sound out the "subconscious" meaning of the phrase. What my subconscious wants me to remember is the phrase "Panna See Yah"!

I have noticed my subconscious uses images or phrases I am very familiar with from my previous real life experiences to relay "messages" in dreams it wants me to remember and try and understand the real meaning of. A baseball "dugout" is a familiar term to me. The subconscious mind uses that familiar term to relay an unfamiliar, possibly future prediction of a real life event in my life time to me.

The dream I just blogged before this one was about a message involving "Bill Gates" and the word "Hauppauge",  which are both familiar to me from previous, real life experiences. I worked at  Microsoft for the past 16 years, full time and as a contractor. The word "Hauppauge" was familiar to me because I had previously purchased and installed a cable TV board into my desktop computer made by a company called "Hauppauge" so I could watch analog TV on my home computer.

In the previous blog my subconscious again used  images of people and phrases I was very familiar with to portray concepts I was not very familiar with...being "posh"! The spell checker in this blog red-lined my initial misspelling of the "Hauppauge" company name so hopefully it is correctly spelled now.

So I wake up at 3:00 AM on 12-13-2014 and my logical brain becomes a little irritated at my subconscious. I start thinking....

"Why am I dreaming so much about Microsoft Executives? It isn't like I met these famous people a lot in real life, up close and personal. I don't remember ever meeting them formally face-to-face. Just in company meetings in an audience with thousands of people attending.

My logical mind immediately picks up what it believes the subconscious is trying to get me to understand from the images of  "Bill Gates" and "Steve Ballmer". They are famous and have great responsibility for the current state of modern mankind!

Okay, the images of Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer in my dreams are making logical sense to me now.

What about the word "Panacea"? I will look up the literal meaning online but I know it isn't important to my dream. The phonetics of the word are..."Panna See Yah".

My logical mind is getting pretty good at interpreting these cryptic, subconscious phrases in my dreams. My logical mind starts iterating through "logical" phrases of "Panna See Yah" based on my previous, real life experiences and similar dreams...

"Panacea"
"Pana See Yah"
"Panic! See You!'

My logical brain stops right there and says, "Wait a minute. You had a previous dream about crashing a plane in an area of sandy desert.  You saw a tall, dark skinned race that reminded you of Mowgli in  the Disney movie "Jungle Book". An extremely tall, lanky, dark skinned race wearing nothing but a fur, loin skin and carrying what appeared to be a primitive spear." Reference blog "June 12, 2013 Dream about what humans could like in the future."

Furthermore, I felt a bit of "panic" when I witnessed these images in my previous dream of 6/12/2013. Like I wasn't supposed to be seeing this tall, dark skinned race! A mini-Mowgli ran up to me with a primate "X" signed made of two crossed sticks connected together with rawhide to indicate I must not follow this great, loin skinned person in my dream if I knew what was good for me!"

Even freakier, my logical brain reminded me I have just recently been watching a TV series on the "Weather Channel" called "In Search of Giants"! This TV show is about two brothers going around the US from Catalina Island to the Ozark Mountains searching for physical evidence (bones, skulls) of an unknown species of humans that were over 8 feet in height and had double rows of teeth in their huge skulls! The final couple of episodes revealed their belief these "super humans" may have been an inter-breeder with modern man.

Conclusion:

My logical brain concluded my subconscious is predicting this proposed super human race of giants will be found to be of great historical importance and will be found to have had great influence on the current state of mankind! Note: Just received a copy of the latest National Geographic magazine. Front cover article is all about the latest findings regarding the first native North Americans. Is it just a coincidence I have a dream regarding the first native North Americans right before I get the National Geographic magazine also featuring the latest information on the first native North American humans?

I don't think so.

My logical brain also noted the fact the date of this dream, 12-13-2014, is a date screaming out "around the 12th or 13th!!!!". The number 13 has been of great significance in my life's journey for some reason. Significant, real life events happen to me around the 12th or 13th day of any given month! One dream I had proposed my whole life revolves around the number 12 or 13. I noticed the previously referenced dream of "Mowgli" type super humans happened on  "June 12, 2013"...There is a freaky numbers game going on  with the days of the month, specifically 12 and 13, right?...or am I going crazy???

Too freaky for me to handle. I would go crazy trying to pay attention to every day details proving my whole life revolves around one or two numbers but the pattern of significant, real life events around the 12th or 13th of each month keeps popping up so it is hard to completely ignore!

The word "Panacea" usually means a "Universal remedy"...something to heal all ills. According to Wikapedia there are a whole family of Greek Gods that were known for their special, universal healing skills! Reference: family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panacea.

Update 01/14/2015:

National Geographic Magazine cover for the January 2015 "How a Tiny 12,000-Year Old Teenager Became the First American". This issue is all about what we know right now about who the first Americans looked like and where they came from based on mounting evidence that the continental plates were all once connected to each other allowing some movement by humans across connected continental bridges that no longer exist.

I have had dreams a few weeks before covering the same key words on the next month's release of National Geographic Magazine. It keeps happening so I must be picking up some vibes from the editors of the magazine before they release the issue in my dreams...Very odd.

I looked up the name of the original connected continents they claim the first Americans crossed to get to North America because I knew it was close to the sound of the "Panacea" word in this dream. You have to admit Pangaea is close to what the word "panacea" I thought I heard in my dream.

No wonder I had a recent dream where my subconscious was identifying the fact I am not very good at getting the details right!!!

I am writing about this dream almost exactly one month later on the night of 1/14/2014 after the dream I had on 12/13/2014. Another interesting, recurring pattern.

11-27-2014 Odd Dream...If you want to help Bill Gates...

I can't remember all the details of this dream. I believe I was looking for a job. I was reviewing jobs and came across something open for the Gates Foundation. I heard a voice in the background say...
"If you want to help Bill Gates you need to learn "Haupauge"!"

I remember the phonetics of the odd word  "Howoooposhshshsh"

No idea what it means.

I will look online to see if I find anything that makes sense.

Hah! Found it.

Makes total sense.

I've learned the subconscious speaks in a cryptic, phonetic, baby language. Often, the logical mind has a hard time interpreting subconscious messages in dreams.

The vast knowledge store on the internet often helps me find what my subconscious is trying to say to me in my dreams

Conclusion: My subconscious was telling me, through this dream, I need to learn how to act "posh" to get a job helping Bill Gates.

Trying to act posh would be a huge effort for me I'm afraid to say. I'm from a small mining town in Canada.

This video is about the way posh people speak in the UK. Being 'posh' typically implies that you are from a wealthy family that is very traditional in its practices and outlook and usually means that you were privately educated and went to a school where there were fees to pay.

 

11/24/2014 - Thank you Angel with the Red Dress On!

I had three memorable dreams in the last week.

The first dream occurred on 11/23/2014.

My dream was fairly simple. A rather pale girl about 14 or so with straw colored hair (whitish blonde to be exact).

All she wanted to do was play a simple board game with her.

A voice inside me was saying you need to encourage her to pass over to the other side.

So I played the game and encouraged her to follow the light...like I saw on TV. :-)

I told her she would be happier on the other side and people would be there to greet her.

The dream ended and I felt satisfied I had helped her.

Never had a dream like that before. But  then I had another ghost dream the following night on 11/24/2014.

The 11/24/2014 dream was with a different "entity". It is was a flashy young girl about 25 or so. She was in a short, vibrant red dress on...definitely your aggressive, Type A personality.

She said she was sent down from "above" to help guide me but she what she really wanted to personally do while she was visiting me was to get in a hot car and drive with the "metal to the pedal" on a long, winding rode!

I tell you right now, this isn't me talking...

Anyway, we got in a car in my dream and started driving. The dream morphed into driving to visit my mother. On the way we stopped at a gas station and to my surprise John Lennon from the Beatles were playing an impromptu concert there. I thought that was cool but, as you may know, John Lennon is no longer with us in real life.

So we drove for awhile and it seemed like a frivolous way to spend my time so I asked her what this was all about since my mom already had passed away, as well.

She said something funny and I laughed.

Then she said, "All I wanted to really do was see you smile!"

Now that was genuinely sweet. Brings a tear to my eye.

Apparently, I haven't been smiling enough lately.

I know I have been too concerned with unimportant things in the past few days.

On the night of 11/25/2014 I had a dream I can't remember too well.

What stood out is I was excited about seeing something and called my wife over to come take a look.

She was holding a baby in her arms. We are now too old to have kids. Maybe this is a glimpse at a future grandchild! :-)

10-20-2014 Dream of a ghost

I have had these types of dreams at least two or three times each year for several years. In this version of the dream I was walking around a neighborhood. I was very tired so I took off my jacket, rolled it up for a pillow and took a nap on someone's lawn in the  neighborhood. Not something I would typically do but makes the dream memorable!

The people in the house were very upset. The lady of the house came out to see what was going on and the man was yelling at me in the background from inside the house to get off their lawn. Then they figured out I was a ghost! That really freaked the man out. He hit his head hard on something in the house.

One thought I have is maybe when I dream I violate a parallel universe and walk around the parallel neighborhood as a ghost. The consistent "freak out" factor I have on the people in these dreams makes me think it is more than just a dream.

I actually feel bad about scaring people in another world when I wake up from these dreams.

10-12-2014 Dream About Genes

I had an interesting dream on 10-12-2014. A very clear message was announced. "Genes enable you to do things." As the dream progressed it was clear there was an attempt to customize a large number of genes in humans in the future to "allow humans to do things." A simple statement with an unknown effect on future generations. I found this dream to be a bit disturbing.

Update: On the night of 10-15-2014 I watched the latest episode of a TV show called "The Black List". It was all about secret, government funded projects identifying people with a specific "Super Warrior" gene that set the people having the gene off on a wild killing rampage.

Had a similar situation after a dream earlier in the summer...my logical brain is simply telling me the dream I had on 10-12 matches the real life TV show I watched three days later...some genes enable you to do things". Sometimes very bad things according to the latest "The Black List" episode.

Definitely a "Birthday Phenomena" event since the dream occurred on the 12th of the month  when I noticed real life events I dream of happen around that date.
 

09-27-2014 Melinda Gates Foundation and a Hand Scanner Health Screen

I had a memorable dream 09-27-2014. The Melinda Gates Foundation implemented a new screen to identify health issues in a person by scanning a persons hand with some sort of light emitting device. My logical brain assumed it was for arthritis. Since it was just images of hands being scanned I am not limiting the hand scanning device to just arthritis identification.

Interesting.

I am prompted to grab the key words for hidden, subconscious gibberish meanings like...

Melinda Gates Foundation...Mlnda Gts Fnd Ation.

Melinda gets found Asian??? Melinda gets foundation??

Interesting twist of meaning from speaking subconscious gibberish.

9-24-2014 Dream of three or four spent multistage rocket sections strewn the moon or some other alien planet.

It was just a quick image of a dumping ground for three or four spent multistage rocket sections on the moon or some other alien planet. They were very large and appeared to have an exterior color of white.

Is this a future vision of our moon after all the privately owned rockets start crowding our galaxy or could it be a glimpse of an alien planet with similar technology as our own?

I don't know. Not much to go on with the quick image of what appeared to be a multistage rocket  dumping ground.

New Found Facts about the "08-12-2014 Dream about Ethos"

I need to research the dates the NCIS "Ethos" episode and the next NCIS episode after that one was
filmed.

The odd thing I found out after I posted "08-12-2014 Dream about Ethos" blog is the fact the NCIS captain's father died in real life after he filmed the NCIS "Ethos" episode I watched on the night after I had the "Ethos" dream on 8-12-2014. I don't know when the NCIS "Ethos" dream was actually filmed. I was startled by the fact the very next episode of NCIS was all about the NCIS captain's father passing away and then at the end of the show they dedicated the episode to him because he really did pass away!

Odd. Right? I have a dream about Ethos the night before I even know what Ethos means, the very next night I watch an NCIS episode all about Ethos and the next week I found out the main actor in the NCIS "Ethos" episode past away right after acting in the NCIS "Ethos" episode in real life!

When you start noticing patterns between your dreams and strong references to guidance from people who are no longer with us it is really pretty hard to ignore.

My logical mind is telling me there has to be "resources" beyond our existing three dimensional world our subconscious minds can tap into to help guide us through emotional, future events we experience in real life.

I'm thinking these "out of this world resources" our subconscious taps into can help prepare us to survive future, often highly emotional, events we experience in our journey through life.

08/20/2014 and 08/22/2014 Two Odd Dreams Blue Dragonflies

Not sure if these dreams are predictive or not. Full of symbolism. I will probably have to research some of the key words online to figure these two dreams out.

8/20/2014 Dream

On early morning of 8/20/2014 I remember being in a quaint neighborhood with nice, full grown deciduous trees bordering both sides of the street. I seem to be a tourist in the neighborhood sight seeing.

A series of 10 to 12 foot blue paper dragonflies kept wisping past me like kites falling from a low height. After about the third or fourth paper dragonfly wisped by me the situation became far worse.

All of a sudden a helicopter came barreling out of control at me on the same street. To avoid the crashing helicopter I had to race down a steep side street and barely dodged a large piece of the helicopter body as it rolled at a high speed down the steep side street past me. I remember the helicopter body was a bare metallic silver.

Scary. I really have no idea what this dream means at this time.

 8/22/2014 Dream

The second dream on 8/22/2014 was after I had watched a silly Nickelodeon kid's show before I went to bed . I believe this silly show was a catalyst for the 8/22/2014 dream.

The 8/22/2014 dream was in a theater. There was a large stage below the rectangular theater with tiered seats on the back and two sides of this theater. The stage was a good distance below where I was sitting. It was a very clear and detailed dream. The stage looked like a large shoe box. It was very much like a hand puppet stage but much larger- a full theater sized stage was inside the puppet like box structure.

The people around me appeared to be from the Victorian era. The lady in back of me was in a box seat. She seemed to be royalty or upper class with fancy hair and a lot of makeup. There were two actors standing right by the stage but at floor level- not on the stage. They waved to us. I thought one of them looked like my neighbor but I looked a little harder and it was not a man like my neighbor. It was a woman dressed up to be a man in the play.

The lady in front of me was so far forward in the theater she really could not clearly see the puppet like stage. She had to crane her neck back towards my seat. She said, "Well, the floor manager is certainly going to hear about this!"

She was more common and had what looked like a long, blue corduroy jumper type dress with a long sleeved blouse under it...if that makes sense. I'm not into woman's fashions.

The 8/22/2014 dream was clearly from another time like the 1800 or 1900s.

Some man kept saying "CSA CSA CSA" over and over again in almost a silly tone. Very loud.

I felt silly and out of place.

The 8/22/2014 dream might be a theater like experience in my future. It should be pretty obvious to match this dream to a real life theater experience because of the clarity of the Victorian era images I had in my dream.

I just thought of something...maybe the silly man was saying "Ceasar! Ceasar!". Not sure.

Research Update 8/24/2014:

I found fascinating pattern matches from internet searches on my two dreams' key words - dragonfly, helicopter crash, and  Civil War. References in the first dream's internet article of a famous Civil War Colonel's name - Samuel Jackson pointed me to other internet articles revealing the fact the famous Civil War Colonel, Samuel McCartney Jackson, was born on the exact same month and day I was born on.

Maybe there are channels of time and space that bend to reveal glimpses of past and future events to people born on  the same day and month.

Maybe this "bending of events through time" is an aspect of physics we do not fully understand yet.

This is the first time I have been able to document people and events from the past matching my "predictive" dream key words and phrases.

1. There was a newspaper helicopter crash in 1947. The history making helicopter was called the "Newsroom Dragonfly". The "Newsroom Dragonfly" helicopter "rolled several times" after the crash near the pilot's friend's neighborhood.

The crash occurred on the 21st of December, 1947. My odd dreams occurred on the 20th and 22nd day of the month. I've noticed actual real life events matching predictive dreams I have often occur within a tight window of two or three days before or after the same day of the month I have predictive dream(s).
3. The pilot of the 1947 helicopter crash, Sam Jackson, decided to try and fly over his friend's neighborhood to show him an aerial view of his home before dinner. In my 8/20/2014 dream I was walking through a nice neighborhood when all of a sudden a crashing helicopter came barreling towards and "rolled several times". I had to dodge it to avoid being a victim of the helicopter crash in my dream on 8/20/2014.
4. I also noticed "Samuel Jackson" was a key word from the internet article matching the well known "Civil War" Colonel's name- Samuel Jackson. This made me think perhaps the two dreams on 8/20/2014 and 8/22/2014 were somehow related. The book documenting the history making "Dragonfly Helicopter" of Portland, Oregon was written C.S(Samuel). Jackson. He was the pilot when the 1947 "Dragon Helicopter" crashed. My logical brain automatically matched the pilot's first and middle initials, "CS", to the "Confederate States of America" acronym "CSA" chanted by a person in my 8/22/2014 dream. I felt inspired to do further research on the famous Civil War Colonel Samuel Jackson to try and understand possible reasons why these two dreams would be linked together.
5. I was amazed to find out from my internet research of the Civil War Colonel, "Samuel McCartney Jackson" the fact he was born on the exact same month and day I was born on- September 24th.

Do you get the feeling, like I do, my subconscious is tapping into resources beyond our current three dimensional world based on the Month and Day of my birth?

Internet Research Findings on the 8/22/2014 Dream

CSA means "Confederate States of America".

I find it fascinating there was a man (obviously from a southern state in the US) shouting "CSA CSA CSA!" in my dream and all people around me were dressed in what I guessed was "Victorian" era clothing which is when the American Civil War occurred.

Still not sure what the dream means but I can tell you for sure I had no knowledge of what "CSA" meant and had no knowledge the American Civil War started during the Victorian era.

There was the Newsroom Dragonfly.




It was purchased by the Oregon Journal in 1947, the first helicopter in the country used by a newspaper for news coverage.

A state wide news sensation, its career was tragically cut short after less than a year.

The media wars in Portland during the postwar era were between the staid, established Oregonian, the morning paper, which proudly proclaimed itself an "Independant Republican Newspaper" on its editiorial page, and the scrappy blue-collar afternoon paper, the Oregon Journal.

The Journal was founded in 1902 by C.S. Jackson. It often espoused populist causes such as the direct election of U.S. Senators and adoption of the initiative system.

In 1947 the paper was published by Phillip Jackson, the son of its founder. His nephew, C.S. "Sam" Jackson II, newly returned from wartime naval air service was the associate publisher and general manager of radio station KALE- The Journal.

Phillip Jackson had the idea of purchasing a helicopter for the Journal after he had read an advertisement by Bell Aircraft Company in October 1946, but it was Sam Jackson was the prime mover behind the project.

It was an instant success, a news story in itself as well as a revolutionary news gathering tool. Launched from the helicopter pad from the Oregon Journal’s huge building (the former Public Market) on the waterfront, it could reach stories around town in minutes, covering fires (even one at the Oregonian Building), train wrecks, and floods state wide. It also allowed the Journal to feature aerial photography, from the remotest corners of the state to “Is this your house?” neighborhood flyovers across Portland.

On the afternoon of Sunday December 21, 1947, Sam Jackson and his friend, businessman Ambrose Cronin Jr. (himself a grandson-in-law of the Oregonian’s founder Henry L. Pittock) left a luncheon at the Cronin household along side of the West Hills golf course (the course was later made the location of the Oregon Zoo in1959).

They drove to the Oregon Journal’s headquarters and boarded the Journal’s helicopter. Jackson and Cronin planned to take pictures of Cronin’s home before returning there for dinner. They took off at approximately 4:10 and flew toward the West Hills.

At 4:30, witnesses reported seeing the helicopter circling the ninth tee of the golf course in a fairly strong head wind when suddenly the tail lifted and the helicopter plunged to the ground. Upon impact, it burst into flames and rolled several times, killing both occupants.

The helicopter was so popular the Oregon Journal published a book, “The Newsroom Dragonfly” to be out in time for Christmas, 1947. The book was not lacking in descriptive metaphors for the new technology. Besides "dragonfly" it was referred to as an "eggbeater," "the flying pollywog" (it was green), a "strange new air machine," "doodlebug" and "the airplaine that stands still."

In Vanilla, although the original Victoria II starts in 1836, and allows the player to guide their selected country through 100 years of the Victorian era, the House Divided expansion pack which APD is based on allows an alternative start to the game in 1861 at the onset of the Civil War. This was done in order to give the CSA a better fighting chance against the USA, which players complained that the CSA was extremely easy to beat.
In APD, the Civil War event chain is not drastically changed from Vanilla. Additional events and decisions preclude the Civil War, in addition to during it. Ultimately however, slavery cannot be abolished in the US until the Civil War occurs, for better or worse. The player can enact special decisions during the course of the war which represent real strategies by the US designed to end the war, such as the Anaconda plan."

08-12-2014 Dream about Ethos

I remembered only a loud pronouncement from my dream last night...

"ETHOS. It's yours when you find it!"

I don't even know what ETHOS means. I will research it online.

At this point, I have no idea what this statement means from my dream last night.

Odd I would make such a loud statement in a dream when I don't even know what I am saying!

Conclusion

If you want to find your true ethos, your true beliefs to guide you through life, you have to search for it!

Detailed Explanation

"Ethos can simply mean the disposition, character, or fundamental values particular to a specific person, people, corporation, culture, or movement. The Ethos refers to the spirit which motivates the ideas and customs."(1).

For example, "the American Dream" is the freedom to work hard and get rich (2).

The night after I had the ETHOS dream and looking up the definition of Ethos I watched an NCIS TV show. It was all about searching for "the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology."

What a coincidence, right?

The NCIS captain's farther was seen searching for an old war buddy who had saved his life when he was flying a fighter plane in World War II against the Nazis. His father insisted his son (the NCIS captain) use his resources to help find this old war buddy he longed to see. The son was having trouble with the ethos of the situation because he thought his father was no longer following the "guiding beliefs and ideals he was raised by" and the "ideology" of his father being the guiding light in morals and beliefs. The son had researched his fathers platoon and found no one by the name of the buddy his father was looking for. The NCIS captain thought his father was not telling the truth and just wanted his attention. The idea that parents with failing health can no longer fulfill the ideology of being the master of their children which characterized the ethos of parenthood from the post WWII baby boom generation was also noted. So this TV show was all about searching for ETHOS. At the end of the show it turned out the father's buddy was a Nazi fighter plane pilot that showed mercy and helped the NCIS captain's farther turn his failing plane around. His father was flying in the wrong direction. The Nazi pilot guided the failing airplane to safe US occupied air space. A definite violation of the existing Nazi ethos of World War II. The German pilot eventually moved to the US after the war and the two pilots wrote each other. So the NCIS captain's ethos was not violated from the way he was raised. He just made a bad assumption about who his father's war buddy really was. He had to search for the truth to be satisfied his ethos was not violated.


So what does this all mean based on the dream I had?

I think my subconscious was defining a milestone in my journey writing this blog.

Simply stated, "Be aware!". "Search for the truth."

I have found evidence of "guiding powers" beyond our three dimensional space because I methodically documented my "Deja Vu" dreams.

You have to "be aware" and search for your true ethos.

If you watch all the TV shows out their on psychics reading people and talking to their dead relatives you know the message they are trying to get across is simply "be aware". Your current beliefs may change if you just look a little harder at what you are seeing. Have an open mind to what is really going on in your daily lives.

In this blog, I am just trying to make you more aware of what I have noticed is going on in my daily life.

Some of my dreams appear to be tapping resources beyond the realm of our three dimensional space. I am seeing and hearing things in my dreams around the 12th and 24th day of each month relating to experiences I have in real life days or months after the dream occurs. These predictive dreams keep happening month after month, year after year. They are repeatable.

It has definitely changed my ethos and made me more aware of future experiences I will have in my lifetime.

Dream 8-2-2013 About Future Ad Blitzes for Newborns

I had a memorable dream last night. It was not about anything I am currently doing in real life so I believe it is a prediction of a future event I will experience. The dream was about how a group of not so honest people were taking advantage of all the data being tracked by companies about people and pushing advertisement for products based on the hope it will match the peoples interests they know about the people they push the ads out to.

This not so honest group was into pushing out ads to people with new born babies. Everything from monogrammed baby booties to life insurance. They had become quite successful and didn't care whether the people they sent ads out to wanted to see them or not.

In my dream the push of these ads was bordering on harassment. It is the second dream I have had about media blitzes of ads to people based on their interests collected from peoples web browsing.

The dream is telling me these type of ad blitzes will be getting more and more annoying for people in the future. It seems to indicate more and more people will start questioning the morality of this type of advertising.
