How to Shelter Yourself in an Emergency

Cover Windows to retain heat with
cardboard or even newspaper.

In cold environments
o
Close off unused areas

Use a camp stove inside?
o
Make sure you have proper ventilation or you will die from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Make sure all needed resources are within reach
and available for use.
·
Need to camp outside?
o
Pick a place as flat as possible
o
Camp on a clearing, hilltop or lake shore where
you can be easily seen by search and rescue helicopters.
